Monthly Programs

The Eugene Bonsai Society provides great learning experiences for enthusiasts of all skill levels. Following each monthly meeting, attendees may take part in a program demonstrating some aspect of bonsai cultivation and maintenance. Its a great way to learn more about the hobby we love and foster camaraderie between members and friends. Below is a list of the Monthly Programs you can expect in 2017:

2017 Workshops

In addition to our monthly programs, EBS will be arranging three paid workshops in 2017, all of which will be held at the EPUD meeting room at 33733 Seavey Loop Road in Springfield Oregon. In addition to the price of the workshops (listed below), EBS members may use the club wire collection for an extra $15. Casual observers are welcome to attend. So stop by and see how bonsai are grown and styled.

NOTE: Participation in workshops is contingent upon being a paid member. Attending the workshop as an observer is free and always welcome.

Saturday, March 18th
Instructor: Michael Hagedorn
Cost: $110 full day
Student Limit : 7
Notes: BYOT. Michael Hagedorn is widely known the world over as a premier bonsai artist and teacher. He has apprenticed in Japan and prepared trees for top Japanese bonsai shows. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from one of the best!

Saturday, April 1st
Instructor: Alan Taft
Cost: $65 full day
Student Limit: 8
Notes: BYOT (Bring Your Own Tree). This class is tailored for beginners and intermediates. Is this your first bonsai? No problem, its time to jump right in!!!

Instructor: Lee Cheatle
Cost: $65 for full day
Student Limit: 8
Notes: BYOT. Class targeted for beginners and intermediates.
